Konya Metropolitan Municipality

I participated in the Sustainable Urban Mobility Master Plan (KONSUAP) Workshop, organized by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, which aims to shape our city's transportation vision for the year 2043. During this significant event, we gathered with representatives from 112 institutions and organizations across Konya to evaluate the city's future traffic, public transit, and pedestrian and bicycle accessibility within a holistic framework. Throughout the workshop, the capacity of the current transportation infrastructure and potential future bottlenecks were presented for stakeholders' consideration, drawing upon data obtained from field surveys and counts involving tens of thousands of citizens. In this meeting, where collective wisdom and consultation were at the forefront, we engaged in highly valuable exchanges of ideas to develop short-, medium-, and long-term permanent transportation solutions for our city.

When building the cities of the future, integrating innovative digital systems into the process is just as crucial as physical infrastructure investments. In line with this vision, I delivered a presentation on "Technological Innovations in Municipal Governance" during the workshop. My presentation focused on how smart city applications and next-generation technologies can optimize local government processes, ultimately making urban mobility and public services more efficient. I am highly pleased to be a part of these strong steps taken toward establishing a sustainable and innovative transportation model for Konya, and to share my scientific and academic background on such a meaningful platform.
